Lithium batteries charge significantly faster than lead-acid batteries. The absence of memory effect means that the battery can be charged and discharged at any charge level without loss of capacity. LiFePO4 batteries are charged with a maximum recommended current of 0.5C, where C is the battery capacity. For an LP LiFePO4 battery 25.6V - 50Ah, the maximum charging current should not exceed 125A (0.5 x 50Ah). It is important that this current does not exceed the capabilities of the BMS to maintain safety and extend the life of the battery.
