Lithium batteries charge significantly faster than lead-acid batteries. The absence of memory effect means that the battery can be charged and discharged at any charge level without loss of capacity. LiFePO4 batteries are charged with a maximum recommended current of 0.5C, where C is the battery capacity. For a 25.6V - 280Ah LP LiFePO4 battery, the maximum charging current should not exceed 200A. It is important that this current does not exceed the BMS capabilities to maintain safety and extend the battery life.
